Seems that the UK has received its own price drop on all models of Xbox 360 shortly after the US one. All prices will be slashed as of August 24th (when the elite hits the shops here). This new reduced price makes the Core system as cheap as the Nintendo Wii. Here is a quote from Stephen McGill, head of Gaming and Entertainment, Xbox UK.

Awesome! Shame that I had to pay about £275 for my Xbox 360 from Amazon UK; But at least it came with two games: Gears of War and Crackdown. I guess it sort of works out pretty evenly.

As you got the Premium version id say you got quite a good deal and it worked out for you.
