Hex's head

I wrote these a while ago... thought I'd share... if anyone cares...

Seeing Clearly

when at first the stars above did watch you with their calming love
all seemed to be at peace within a safety without cease
but as you grew you saw the builders that had left you so bewildered
of their faces none serene did bear a hint of things unseen
you looked toward your fellow man and saw the strings in builders hands
pulling war, pulling malice, pulling order off its balance
did the makers have you fooled when first they filled the sky with jewels
or have the gods within the stars simply been swept aside too far
by the darkness we've unfurled on building up a hollow world
a lie for every mind and not a one a soul inside
better never to have seen, to pray the peace had been a dream
I don't know what disturbs me most, that they can't help or that they wont

Assuming One Weren't Empty

assuming one weren't empty
one would hope that one could hear
but to be here and to see the silence
one may sink beneath their mirror
if time had kin of why and where
the path may truly be between
for if and when the exit's spied
who could say I'd ever been
the others never knew the truth
they knew me not but sold the proof
when one would flee from all that's lost
the cost is but the cost
if one could truly see the breeze
and make believe that they were free
could see the seeds they've placed upon the scene
could merry be still incomplete
one could be the sound and hear the silence
assuming one weren't empty

Re: Hex's head

Overcome

When I was small I lived behind a wall of bitter lies
So afraid, I’d been betrayed right before my eyes
I thought that I should fry and so I’d try but couldn’t win
Finally I fled the place I’d bled my soul within

I wallowed in the darkness as it swallowed up my soul
Grinning with the madness as the sadness took control
My broken heart grew cold as I grew old upon cement
I tried so hard to hide the scars everywhere I went

I found my spirit wedged between the dredges of the world
I used my rage to build a cage around that broken girl
I took the pain within to hone my brain into a knife
To lose control was worth my soul but never worth my life

As I grew tired of the liars and my broken dreams
I came to hate my trust in faith and tore it at the seams
I clawed myself out from that hell, I’m never going back
Became myself and lost my shell, I readied my attack…

Re: Hex's head

A Soul Shared

You walked into the fire
Watched me burn a little
You were haunted by this smile
Though my soul seemed withered
Always in disgrace
You were tortured by my pain
So take me in this place
Only want to hear my name

And should you follow me into this madness
I will keep you safe
I’ll see to it you forget me
Keep your grasp still far away

Thought I’d break under their gaze
Until you cut them down
Nothing’s simple in this place
But I will crawl up from your shade
Always in disgrace
Make a blade out of my pain
Tear them in my place
Make them all call out my name

And should you follow me into this madness
I will keep you safe
I’ll see to it you forget me
Keep your grasp still far away

Re: Hex's head

Hell's Heart

I slink within the starkness
I’m the snake who sold the world
They made me in my darkness
Saw my ragged wings unfurled
I destroyed them swiftly
So they banished me to Hell
They would not need to fear me
If they did not hate themselves

I will not apologize
They never knew my way
I’m what they could never be
So left them where they lay
Held strong to my pride
Until they came to put me down
So follow me in darkness
We’ll play on Devil’s playground

Dance with me in Hell
Tonight your wary eyes seem haunted
Ignore the rotting smell
Of the world you said you wanted
Let it fester, let it burn
You know it’s only made of lies
And if the *******s never learn
Then they all deserve to fry

I will not apologize
They never knew my way
I’m what they could never be
So left them where they lay
Held strong to my pride
Until they came to put me down
So follow me in darkness
We’ll play on the Devil’s playground
