You know the infamous 'Disc Read Error' that every Playstation 2 owner fears? Well, I thought after 16 months of suffering this - I can't takes no more! And so I decided to have a go at fixing the little critter with Sharon's help.
Big mistake - because now it's DEAD; which isn't so good...
So obviously the operation didn't go quite as well as we'd hoped. I took photos to document our progress from stage one to... well, the death of my beloved PS2. RIP.

lately I get that message more often than not from mine, but I've been more tempted to smash it into tiny little bits than to actually try anything requiring any degree of patience...
you should leave it's mangled corpse lying where it fell to serve as a message to any other consoles what happens if they don't fall in line...
I usually am not afraid to take apart things, I used to take apart my PSone all the time because it's so tiny and easy to figure out. But the Ps2s. They screw everything down. It's horrible trying to figure that **** out. I just gave up on trying to make discs that make it go (disc read error) work.

Yeah always the smallest pieces in computers that do the most stuff word of warning for future .... dont yank anything in tech just incase
