We all know we have choices
In where we go in life.
You think you know
When you are young.
You disregard the voices,
The ones that have been hurt the worst,
Trying to tell you
How to avoid being brought low.
These same voices,
These same people,
All go unsung.
Run, run I say,
Run, run I see
Down that path you take.
There are bitter hearts
Along this low-lit way.
Pass them by but don’t ignore
All the advice they gave.
Learn from them, I say!
