So currently we have:

0-99 posts
100-499 posts
500-999 posts
1,000+ posts
Yay thats sort of like my idea

I still think that Banned people shouldn't have a cool title but it's not forum

"If you can't be an athlete, at least you can be an athletic supporter"

Re: Alternate Usergroup Titles...

With regards to the Artisan title, I think the aim is to make all titles related to Fable. Unless I am missing something, there are no characters called Artisans in the game. It's still a good idea but it doesn't relate to the Fable theme...

Re: Alternate Usergroup Titles...

Hmm, seems I have gotten to this thread somewhat late. The new titles themselves are great, but I would cast my vote for having them based upon how many reputation points one has, rather than the number of posts.

A large number of reputation points assures the viewer that that person knows what they are talking about, and can be trusted with the answers they give. The viewer is comforted that enough people have found what that person has to say to be worthwhile that they let others know though giving reputation points.

Often, a large amount of posts insures a large number of reputation points. However, sometimes people post very often and do not have much content in their posts. On other forums, I have seen people leave many very short posts without adding much to the forum in general.

Overall, it isn't a huge deal to me. I figured I would just toss in my input and see what everyone else thinks.

edit: spelling error

honestly, I kind of agree with you... the number of posts a person has says little about the quality of that person's posts whereas, at least in theory, rep does...
having title changes based on the number of posts does have the potential of merely encouraging people to make posts of any sort in large amount to gain themselves the new title... I'm not saying that this has happened here or even that it will, but there is always the chance that immature people in their aim to see "Legend" under their name will start making pages of posts like "woot", "rofl", "rawr" and the like, which add nothing to the discussion in an attempt to increase their post count...

Re: Alternate Usergroup Titles...

I kinda agree, but then I don't. Rep takes a really long time to get. Even if there were people spamming trying to get a higher post count, we have the staff to take care of that.

If it was rep based, we'd get more people asking for it.
