I don't think that your offspring should pay off your taxes after your death.........your dead, taxes should no longer be a problem.....

around here, the government still taxes you when you pass on your inheritance, but your spouse doesn't pay, and if your children get it, they get your pension as well so it evens out... I'm getting an old age pension right now...

so, I think it really depends on which country and which government, because the laws will be different... here it matters not

But seriously, they are totally gay and should be removed because when my parents croak I don't want to have to fork out of my pocket just because the government thinks they need to exploit me and my $$$ more than they already do.

I assume we're talking America here - We Swedes haven't even heard of such a silly thing. At first I thought you meant Death Penalty. Anyhow, it sure beats China - the goverment shoots you and send a bill of the bullet home to your familiy. How's THAT for a Death Tax?!

In our country when someone dies, there is no tax except we need to raise our expenses because of the people coming in the death ceremony, even though the person in the ceremony is not invited... weird right.... that's why i like to migrate in other countries
