Just buy a cheap slimline PS2, can pick one up for dirt cheap now. Better than waiting and forking out for PS3, im sure there wont be many games from PS2 that you would still want to play by time you get a PS3.

Before you buy a new PS2, make sure the old games are still purchasable. It's the most frustrating thing when you get a new one and the games have become corrupt.

When My PS2 broke, I was annoyed because I couldn't play my games. When I got a new PS2, I still couldn't play my games because the games broke as well.
