been playing it last 2 days been really happy with it untill now - you contained to your startin area you cant g out of it wihtout a level 6 wanted level which to me is makin it less belivavble- like in rl part of the city would be cut off and chopper would gun you down for traveling out =.=

Thats the idea, you have to unlock that area first. I know that and havent even played it yet, it was mentioned in a review.

That would take even more away from the realism, they listened to peoples complaints about the broken bridges suddenly being repaired after certain missions and such. So they opened all the areas but to tempt you to steer clear they just add wanted level to you instead.

Re: bummer on gta 4
well you can pass them beucase its a small blockade with gaps in. But still wouldnt it be better to have free reign of the city as you would in RL. sure not let you get certian acitvites or club n that but you should be able to travel where you want

Well before they wouldnt let you go there at all, for mission purposes. The story opens up other areas so they need to give you some incentive to do them, as if you needed an incentive with a story as good as GTA IV's. I think the new idea is a much improved one from previous games.

Re: bummer on gta 4
I don't see what the big deal is, it's been like that for all the GTA games. And as always, a logical explanation is provided for as to why the beginning area starts off limited. For GTA 3, VC, and SA... the excuse was bridge construction. For IV, it's .
Not really a big deal, just continue playing through it until you unlock the extra areas. Then you can have all the fun you want on 6-Star.. or you can see if Multi-player is bounded by the barrier.
Most people wouldn't get a sense of accomplishment either, if they were handed the entire city right from the very beginning... work for it, but end up having fun in the process.

See those small gaps between the cement blocks in the barricade? With a motorcycle of some kind there is a 0.00001% chance you'll make it!

I liked SA story too. It was simple, but strangely compelling, the fate of CJ grabbed me.

I agree, Niko's personality is lovable, especially when he reacts to his dates. I'd love to see a Vice City sequel, just to play as Tommy Vercetti again.
Besides, the missions here in GTA IV are more believable as opposed to the over-the-top missions in SA.. (example: CJ invading Area 51? )
