COD 4 Does The Unthinkable

Well Infinity Ward said they were gunning to take Halo 3's Xbox Live throne and it seems they have just done that.

Maybe the legions of swearing, homophobic, chocolate milk-wanting Halo kids are jumping on COD4?

Also revealed by Major Nelson's official XBL stats is Metal Slug 3's top-selling turnout, and rightly so - it's one of our favourites.

Boogie Bunnies came in second - we didn't know there were that many girl gamers with 360s. We thought they all had Wiis.

I think this is just what the game deserves and i for one havent enjoyed an online game as much as COD 4 in many years.

First chance id had to browse CVG for some time so i got lucky with my timing. This news brought a huge smile to my face and i knew it was only a matter of time before people realised just how good COD 4 is online.

I've not played it myself yet - if Matt gives us a copy then I'll give it a go...I'm getting ever so slightly better at not blowing myself up with these sorts of games so it won't hurt to try it out...

To be sure: you get grenades, right? I like to blow stuff up...

The single player on normal difficulty would be ok for you id imagine as its not overly hard. The difficulty spikes in some places but its not that challenging, Veteran on the other hand is quite tough in parts. You get many grenades yes and can blow lots up, as well as shoot through walls with high calibre guns. The online is the best by far though, can be some really good teams you play against. On the hardcore modes theres always some tricky sniper who takes you out from a place you cant quite put your finger on. Just pop some smoke grenades and make a run for some cover and see if you can spot where the bullet comes from. The tactics and squad teamwork online when you have a team full of people you know is just superb and a hell of a lot of fun.

I think whichever is the easiest difficulty will be the one I stick with unless I've got someone to play with...I have to do that with Rainbow 6 and Halo. I like the sound of blowing stuff up and shooting through walls - I enjoy causing mass destruction and mayhem

Plus the graphics are quite possibly the best I have seen in a shooty game for a while - the detail is incredible. I'll steal Steve's profile to play online and then no one will ever really know if they are against me or him, so if I truly suck worse than usual, he'll be the one who looks crappy and not me

Very impressive. There's normally like a zillion people playing Halo 3 online at any one time... Good job I asked my cousin to pick me up a copy of Call of Duty 4 'cause I'd really like to check it out now.

call of duty 4 has now become lets say annoying. Everyon lobs granades constantly. You try and aim with the sniper and you aim for their head and it completly misses. I have now got so ****ed of with the game i have given up on it. I have now ordered my self battlestations midway

Learn to not stand still then, you can get killed by random grenades a lot you just have to listen hard for them landing near you. I love the game and its my favourite online game since the first 2 Call Of Duty games. I do get annoyed with being spawn killed a lot lately as soon as you join a game however. The missing of the headshots is usually to do with connection lag either on their or your end.

I still have yet to get this game. I would go down to the local game stores, but they rob you blind for trade ins.

Really want to play this game, Halo 3 gets boring after awhile..
