Fable 2 - Community Spotlight

This week I pulled back the curtains on our community forums and what to my wondering eyes should appear but the Dark Drakan himself... or Drunkles if you prefer... and I do.

To any newcomers here, Drunkles is our resident Evil Admin and Co-Founder, and all around badass. It was an absolute pleasure to have him as my first victim... I mean... no, I still mean victim.

Well, here it is!

Drunkles: I don’t know how you want to go about it. It’s your feature after all.

Hexadecimal: hehehe feature makes it sound so serious

Drunkles: I guess it does, doesn’t it?

Hexadecimal: Ok, so where did the Drunkles thing come from?

Drunkles: hahaha… Came from you and Markie. That translator I believe, and me being referred to as dunkles drakan in german. Until you changed it accordingly to Drunkles. So I have you and Markie to thank for that.

Hexadecimal: hehe oh yeah… I’m such a *******…

Drunkles: Just let me know when I’m being interrogated. I mean... questioned, etc.

Hexadecimal: oh... I don't know if I should do that... might be funnier if I don't… alright to “start”, here's an obvious one: what made you want to do a fable site?

Drunkles: Well we were thinking about an Oblivion site at first as a possibility and saw that it obviously had a massive following already from loads of huge communities and thought “well they are already established sites and we need to make a site that can compete”. Was also a DBZ site for a while and we even had the forums set up for that and everything until we changed our minds at last minute, then saw how few sites and fan forums there were for Fable and were shocked and Fable it was, we decided.

Hexadecimal: So… we were a last resort, is what you’re saying.

Drunkles: Not at all, we were just trying to make a forum about something we were interested in that we knew would draw fans in, that we could make into a large community and make something of, and with so little competition at the time and with Fable 2 being made we thought it would be the perfect time to set a Fable site up.

Hexadecimal: So is it everything you imagined it would be?

Drunkles: Well its grown at a much faster rate than I ever imagined it would and we have a great community right now that can only get better. I had never imagined we would have been as established and well known around other forums and even been mentioned on Lionhead’s site.

Hexadecimal: It’s because projectego.net is so totally great.

Drunkles: Well so we have been told.

Hexadecimal: So what about you Drunkles? When you aren't keeping us all in line on the forums what are you up to?

Drunkles: Well either working, down pub getting drunk, or here talking to you. Got to live up to my name. Also playing games as well obviously as I’m a games addict.

Hexadecimal: You like games? What? What kind of site is this? … eeeewww work is trying to call to me again... I'm pretending to not be home…

Drunkles: How do you pretend to not be home? Hide under desk?

Hexadecimal: haha what desk? Some office I have, my laptop sits on a pool table. Alright then, what are some of your favourite games?

Drunkles: Right now? Games now are: Gears Of War, Lost Planet, Rainbow Six Vegas, Battlefield 2142, Dark Messiah, FEAR, KotOR II… There are more but cant think of them.

Hexadecimal: I can’t help but notice Fable didn’t even make your list… We were a last resort… just admit it….
I just keep thinking of that episode of the Simpsons where the interview was edited so homer's just going on about her "sweet-sweet-can"

Drunkles: Yeah guess this is kind of the same… So glad I didn’t crack open the beer when I was going to earlier. I’d have been so drunk right now and dread to think what my answers would have been to these questions.

Hexadecimal: Not drunk?... that’s it! This interview is over! Who Is This?!

That's right, folks! You heard it here first, a projectego.net exclusive: the Dark Drakan was sober. This one time only exclusive is just the sort of hard hitting exposés you can expect from the Bards of projectego.net.
