Firsrt off id like to say Gamespot rated this this game horribly.. it should at least deserve an 8.6 than a 7.8

Crackdown is a brilliant game, they added some twist to the 3rd person shooting genre. It has Abilities you can level up such as: Agility, Strength, Driving, Shooting, and Explosives. The more you level up your skills the better you get of course but when you do you get something very special, like if you improve your agility you can jump to a height of 50 feet in the air and not die when landing. Or increassing your Driving transforms the Agency Vehicles into a superpowerd futuristic car. Strength determins how many pounds you can lift at level 4 or 3 you can pick up a semi! Shooting increases your accuracy and power.

Crackdowns graphics arent the best ever, but they arent supposed to be.. its supposed to be a little comic-ish. And Crackdowns enviroment is way more interactive than say GTA San Andreas and the sort. It is designed for you to jump across roofs just like spiderman! The world is HUGE but not as huge as San Andreas though.

This game also has Agents ( The characters you play as ) of each culture. like Goth, Fat, and so on. If you have Xbox Live you can download 4 extra Agents.

One thing MAY disapoint you... This game has no story besides Killing the 3 Gangs in it. But who cares really? youll have a blast even leveling your skillz.

Crackdown is a very addictive game.. i played it a week straight.

The Explosinons are Very Satisfying.. i caused like 5-6 cars go flying into the air with just 1 grenade...it was awesome!

Crackdown has online capabilites but its just Co-op.. but i play with my friend on the 360 Airhead Oz, and we get into an agency vehicle i take it down to the beach and drive it straight into the water then i jump out and run

I wouldnt say Gamespots score was a horrible score by any stretch of the imagination but i do think Crackdown is quite underrated at it is indeed a VERY addictive game and really fun. The GFX of Crackdown are pretty good id say to and i really like the comic cell shaded style and from the highest roofs the view and draw distance is quite impressive. Got to love the rag doll physics that use the Havok engine too, they are really fun to play with.

I like the advancing your skills system aswel and the fact it advances the skills by the more people you kill with those skills or the more things you do with them. Nothing like leaping 30ft roof to roof before kicking a gang member 50ft watching his body fly through the air or causing a huge explosion and watching the cars and bodies fly in every direction .

Overall id say Crackdown is quite the underrated hidden gem on the Xbox 360 and is really fun and addictive, although short on story there is lots of fun to be had.

I thought it sucked... But thats just me... I was trying to compare it to a GTA but I dont think it was ready for that yet.

Its not supposed to be GTA at all... instead of you fighting cops your fighting gangs.. if thats means swimming,exploding, jumping 30 ft in the air, jumping roof to roof, finding agility orbs and such

Well, I only got to play Crackdown for about 5 minutes but I must say that it looked pretty sexy from what I saw. I immediately saw the Grand Theft Auto similarities and mowing down pedestrians became second nature to me once again (on Crackdown that is, not real life. I hear you can get arrested for that).

Oh yeah, and the Halo 3 multiplayer beta invite sounded pretty nice too.

Its no GTA Clone its like GTA on steroids, and just really over the top and in many ways more fun than GTA.

You lose driving skill points for that and your ally police buddies turn on you for killing to many people.

Yeah that happens to me all the time, i misjudge the corners and at high speed plow through all the pedestrians and lose skill points

speaking of agency cars ill tell u their strengths

The agency supercar at lvl 4 has Guns the agency Semi has nitro and the agency SUV has a Jump ability!

Still got to get my driving skills up, i like jumping from roof to roof to much to bother driving to most places unless they are really far away.

I've been reading-up on the game on Wikipedia. With the whole "Agents" concept, and the fact that they are, or become, waaay stronger, faster ect ect... than a normal person, it reminds me of the MatriX.


And I giggled like a little schoolgirl when I read about how enemies drops EXPERIANCE ORBS, that differs how you killed the enemy... Hmm... what other game do we all know of that uses that system...?
