Debate (Might Offend, Sorry)

Let's all debate about a topic that has been around for a while. It may be offensive to some, but oh well. If you're offended by it, ignore this topic. The topic is abortion. Should it be banned?

Personally, I think it should be banned. Abortion is murder. The moment the child is conceived in a woman's stomach, it is a life. And to take life is murder. That's why I believe abortion should be banned.

i personaly think there shouldnt be abortions i think they should have the baby aand turn it into a orfenage. but the people who (and di hope ur not one of them) say that killing people who have abortions is okay are idiots cuz thats murder too

There is no final answer to this, where life starts could be harder to answer than the meaning of life. One could for example ask if male masturbation is murder, since the sperm ejaculated are basicly thrown away. Is a sperm human life too?

I myself feel like I can't determine the answer to such a question and will stay neutral in this.

I personally think, that if anyone wants to kill something that's a part of them they should be able to without any fuss because..it's a piece of them, it's something that has drained them of their energy.
I think that if there's a reason for everything then they had to be aborted for a reason.

Its all situational, you cant say abortion is right or wrong at the end of the day. If you are in stable relationship and partner gets pregnant chances are you might keep it but if you are not financially secure or to young to give kid a proper life to save relationship and stop yourself from ruining your life you should have an abortion as the kid wont have a life and neither will you!

Or you could terminate the child before it has grown into a consiousnes, and spare it the a life-time of knowing it wasn't wanted or loved by his/her parents as he/she is thrown around foster families and foster homes....if the kid is lucky. In some extreme cases the parents will raise the kid, but treat them worse than one would treat a dog, constantly picking on the kid and letting him/her know that he/she was a mistake and they'd rather wish he/she didn't exist.

But as I said, I am not against nor for abortions. I just wish for people to keep their eyes open for the long term effects and not be blinded and focusing only on the "murder" of the child.

abortion used to be banned, and it resulted in a number of women so desperate to not have a baby that they would resort to going to highly questionable back alley doctors. Often their methods were dangerous and unsanitary, resulting in the death of both the woman and her fetus...
banning abortions doesn't stop them, it just makes them dangerous.

I don't think we can can really say whether or not abortions are right or wrong. Its just not something that can be either.. it all depends on the circumstances of the parent(s).
Like what Drakan said, if the mother is underage or still in school, having a baby could ruin her life. But then again.. if she has a supporting family and the father of the babyi s supporting her as well, then her and the baby can both live happy lives.

Theres no easy answer to abortion, but I do think it should be legal.

(I'm not actually 100% sure whether it is or not in this country)

Yeah good point and it is 100% legal here depending on religious beliefs!

I think a big mistake some people make is that they think is that the baby is almost fully developed as they do the abortion. Basicly slicing up the mother's belly and killing this cute little baby boy or girl.
