This is my first attempt at a walkthrough. This is not intended to be a full game walkthrough in any way.
It's merely here to help you get a really strong character early on in the game so please don't complain.

1. Start a new game.
2. Get through Apprenticeship.
3. Go through get enough experience to by physical shield.
4. Go through Greatwood and buy 11 crunchy chicken from the first trader that has them.
5. Go to the Demon Door in Greatwood Gorge, eat the crunchy chicken and get Wellow's Pickhammer from inside the Demon Door.
7. Keep going until you get the Hobbe Cave.
8. Fight Hobbe's until your combat multiplier is at least 20 in the first section of the cave. (Will require fighting Hobbe's in various rooms until you're renowned enough to fight stronger Hobbe's. This shouldn't take very long)
9. Exit the cave and fight the Hobbe's outside, click on the Demon Door (Combat Multiplier must be at least at 14) and get the Cutlass Blutane inside.
10. Do the quests up through Twinblade. (Should be easy with Blutane)
11. Talk to the mercenary in Twinblade's Camp and hire him.
12. Sacrifice the mercenary at Skorm's Temple at midnight and you will be awarded Skorm's bow.
13. Go through Witchwood to Avo's Temple and try to pull the sword.
14. After you fail return to the Heroes Guild and purchase 5 Strength, 2 Health and 3 Toughness levels.
15. Return to Avo's Temple and you should be able to pull the sword now and the rest of the game is a piece of cake.

Note: Steps 7 through 9 may be skipped if you're okay with a slightly weaker weapon though the experience gained in these steps is very beneficial.
Note: Do not use any experience on strength until step 14.

Or you can simply kill 5 villagers (boosting platform crowd are the best coz they can teleport with you) in front of the Greatwood Gorge Demon Door. It will open for you then.

9. Exit the cave and fight the Hobbe's outside, click on the Demon Door (Combat Multiplier must be at least at 14) and get the Cutlass Blutane inside.

Yeah Cutlass Bluetane is a decent weapon. It definitely makes the early part of the game a lot easier.

It's a lot easier to eat some chicken then to go out of your way to get some villagers.

yeah it was helpfull thanks a lot. the skorm's bow kinda sucks and looks bad but it is the best range so i will stick with it .

notice that when you hold the arkens crossbow then your hand is not inplace with the crossbow handguard?

Sounds like a good plan. I always just max out Battle Charge and Multi-Arrow, get Skorm's bow (all of this very early in the game) and train accuracy a lot, and that turns out for a pretty nice character.
