---Quote (Originally by Shift)---
Peter then spoke at length about the problems with downloadable content or ‘DLC’. He said that he found it incredibly difficult to maintain interest in DLC once a game has been released. He cited the content Lionhead created for Fable II and how he had to get the marketing machine rolling again every time more DLC was made in order to drag people back to playing the game. It was at this point that he dropped a bit of a bombshell. He revealed that within Fable III there will be a shop. From this shop the player can buy clothes, items, weapons and even additional content with Microsoft Points. That’s right, he is proposing to release additional content in a piecemeal manner via this shop for a few nickels and dimes. He boasted that new content would arrive on a daily basis as it was terribly small and easy to create.

It was at this point my mind was racing. Not with excitement, no. It was with rage and fury. I was madder at that point than the average PC gamer that wants Activision’s and Infinity Ward’s blood over the Modern Warfare 2 dedicated server mess.

Why was I so mad? Well what Mr Molyneux is proposing here is creating a two tier gaming experience, one for people with more money than sense and the other who have no intention of paying out money for a red hat because it looks ‘cool’. Now this is the first time anyone had heard about this new feature in Fable III, so no one really knows the ins and outs of how it’s going to work. We’re just going to have to wait and see how it pans out in the final game.
---End Quote---

---Quote (Originally by SHIFT)---
Question 9 – The anticipation model was raised frequently during the presentation, how does that marry with the micro-transaction that is going to be present in Fable III?

In response to this question, Peter said that the two modes of game play are at odds with one another and there is a risk of people buying their way to the parts of the game they should have earned. To overcome this there should be a way in which the game prevents the player using an item until they reach a certain level. He did conced however that there is the distinct risk that monetising too much of the game can result in it becoming fundamentally broken.
---End Quote---
I have to say, the questions were more based around milo, but they were just as interesting

Right-Thumstick Function (up-down)

Okay, I know that this is going to be an odd question for someone to ask but I'm genuinly curious about what they are going to do with this one. In Fable, pushing the right-thumbstick up and down altered the distance between the camera and your character; I liked this ability since sometimes you want a good vew of your character or to feel more in the area and sometimes you want your character out of the way.

In Fable II however, they withdrew your ability to zoom the camera in and out (if we ignore the very limiting pressing-the-button function) and instead, made pushing the right-thumbstick alter the pitch (vertical tilt) of your camera with you as the centre of rotation (so that the camera would move to face you) so that you were able to view your character with anything from a top-down view to a horizontal one by pushing the right-thumbstick up and down.

Question is, which function do you think the right-thumbstick (up and down motion) should have in Fable III? Altering camera zoom or pitch (vertical tilt - high camera looking down or character-height camera looking straight on and everyting in between)? Interesting, because I found the lack of ability to control my pitch in Fable annoying *and *my lack of ability to effectively change the zoom in Fable II annoying too. But anyway, which should be changed with the right-thumbstick in Fable III? Or should they make it do something else?

FABLE III
IT'S GOOD TO BE KING*
author unspecified
Peter Molyneux and the crew at developer Lionhead are already working in Fable III, which Molyneux says will come out holiday 2010. The game takes place 50 years in the future of Albion and puts you in the shoes of your offspring from Fable II as he/she strives to capture the throne of Albion and deal with ruling the kingdom. The game's move into the future opens the doors for industrialization, complete with ships and more metal war machines. The land of Albion is split, and is looking for a king or queen to step up and unite the land. If course, how you rule, how you get there, and what you're willing to do to stay there is up to you.

confirmed that you are the offspring of your fable II hero
the game will contain boats and "other war machines" whatever they may be
"what you're willing to do to stay there" could mean you have potential to have your throne taken away...

Could it be a decendent of JoB or even someone who has put on the mask once more. Is it just a fat greedy man,or perhaps an malicious, powerhungry warlord... a bunny? What are your thoughts on this Tyrant?

So this is and isn't really about Fable 3, in truth it's about all the Fables in general (including the ones that will be made). So what do you think the ultimatum to the entire story plot is? Despite the ability to make choices, there has to be an ending to be achieved. An ending that is most likely influenced by Theresa and possibly Scythe, regardless of the morality of their intentions.

So I ask to what end?
As well as Theresa's (and others) motives in the end?

Just answer based off what you know. If you don't have an idea, then formulate (a logical) one.
