Is Fable 2 open world

One of my major letdowns for Fable was the linear gameplay.. There was really no room for exploration as you have a set path to walk.

So what I wanted to know is there more open world gameplay in fable 2 or is it going to be the same linear mess as fable was?

I watched the GDC demo and it seemed to be linear but I dunno : /

Like Shadow Knight said and I believe the Developer PM said that Oblivion is a great game (meaning the open world -ness) He also stated that the combat was crap so Fb2 have different combat. Comparing Fb1 with Fb2 is like comparing lemons and limes, Fb 1 started the series and it can only get better. Ill also admit Fb1 wasn't what it set out to be

Free-roam in Fable 2 would be great, and I'm sure the folks at Lionhead Studios will definitely add some level of free-roaming ability into Fable 2. However, I doubt it'll be anywhere near the level seen in games like The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

But, who knows, we'll just have to wait and see!

Among the entire environment, there will be a few areas that you can freely explore in, obviously including Bowerstone. One of the designers in the fourth video said that everyone hated that you couldn't explore, so he wanted to fix that and they aim to do so.
