I bought Fable: The Lost Chapters recently and went home to install it. When I got to the product key and entered it in it sayed it was invalid, I thought they might have messed it up or something so I took it back and got a new one. I went back to install the new one and the same thing happened. What is wrong? Why can't I install the game? Is it because I have windows vista? I thought this game could run on Vista...

Yes it is. Everytime I enter it it says it is invalid, even for the different key.

well, did you try running the installer using xp compatibility?

right click the file that runs the installer, click properties, go to compatibility and choose xp. idk if it'll solve your problem, but if the problem is because you're running vista it may fix it. it's all i can really think of as i don't have vista.

Since Fable is in the CD slot but not yet installed I went to Computer, then right clicked the icon and clicked properties. But there was no tab for compatibility.

Is the file that runs the installer in a different place or is that it in Computer?

right click the drive then click explore. there should be an autorun or setup or something of that kind. right click that properties.. compatibility.. and select xp.

then the problem doesn't seem to be vista. i remember reading somewhere that some game packages are packaged wrong or something of the like so it's likely an issue with keys themselves. they're probably really invalid.

Vista is not the problem. I'm using it on Vista and it is fine. There is something wrong with your computer.

I agree with Darkened, it's not Vista. I suppose calling Lionhead/Microsoft would be the best option.
