Fan Fiction Section
Hi all,
I'm hoping to set up an area on the main site entirely dedicated to providing guests with interesting stories - or fan fictions, if you prefer - concerning the Fable universe.
I'm curious as to finding out how many of you would be interested in writing up and donating Fable fan fiction stories to Project Ego.net. At the moment I'm looking for a minimum of five stories in order to warrant setting up a dedicated Fan Fiction on the main site.
I can't go into too much detail at the moment as I'd like to see how popular this may become before I give away too much. However I will say that any and all members who are willing to share their work would retain full credit and be aptly rewarded (once either me or Drakan or somebody suggests an adequate reward that is).
So please, be sure to let me know if you are interested in writing up one or more Fable fan fictions and we can see where we go from there.
Cheers.

Re: Fan Fiction Section
What length of fan fictions would you be interested in? I could provide some short stories based in Albion and things such as that, obviously they would be classified as a single fan fiction with several tales but I could work on a few more for you if this took off and chances are I would be a frequent contributer to the fan fictions since I spend a fair amount of time writing fan fictions for other game series.

Re: Fan Fiction Section
There are plenty of things to make fan fiction about. Here ill give you 5 good topics right off the bat.
How Jack of blades was born and his early life.
Making fan fiction about The old kingdom and Archon
Scarlet robe and her life as a balverine hunter.
Scythes early life and how he became undead.
What happen to wisper when she returned to her people and how they called her a hero.

Some good concepts there dude but do you actually write fan fictions or are you just giving your ideas away for free?
I would be interested in seeing a fiction about the Old Kingdom and I would chance writing it myself but Old Kingdom details are scarce and I believe they are exploring it a little more in Fable 2 so I wouldnt a fiction to collide with the official concept of the Old Kingdom.

Re: Fan Fiction Section
Seeing as I neglected to mention it in my original post I thought I might add this little note here:
Any and all fan fiction work submitted to Project Ego.net should ideally be saved in plain text format (notepad, word, wordpad, etc) and uploaded to the forum using the built-in file uploading system (this feature can be located under your post screen interface when replying to a post).
I'm also looking forward to hearing some of the possible storylines that some of us have in mind.

Im in the middle of writing a fan fiction at the moment, the current title is Two Tales From Albion.
So plain text format is it eh, what way is this working? Do we upload it in the forums and then when/if you set up a place on the main site for fan ficitons you will upload it there?

Re: Fan Fiction Section
Finally someone suggests this, I have written my own fable fiction story already and it has been sitting in a file for two months now. Its about Archon, his early life, his rule, and his fall.
Haven't titled it yet.

There's a multitude of ways for a user to send me their Fable fan fictions really; it isn't essential to upload the file to the forum. You could always attach the document to an email and send it to me that way.
But yes, once the first Fable fan fiction is donated I will personally review it and see that everything is in order. Once that is done I will create a new section dedicated to user submitted fan fictions.
And just before I forget - I'm in the process of thinking up potential rewards for users who are kind enough to donate resources (such as fan fictions in this case). Possibly a whole new usergroup with a few extra simple perks such as increased PM inbox space, custom username colour and atributes, possibly even a personal @projectego.net email address. Although nothing is set in stone yet.
By the way - this Two Tales From Albion sounds interesting, I look forward to it's final release. Best of luck, weirdkidinabox.

Excellent! If you would be willing to allow me to check out your Fable fan fiction I would be absolutely delighted. A Fable story revolving around Archon sounds very interesting indeed...

Re: Fan Fiction Section
Bawhahaha - I've had a stroke of genious and in the process of writing something I've wanted to write ever since I've read the first fan story here on the forums.
It aint about no hero, no Jack of Blades, no Guildmaster. It's about two simple oprhans from Bowerstone and their (mis)adventure.

Re: Fan Fiction Section
Are we actually getting a dedicated subforum/forum area on the board to post our fictions or do we just continue to use the arty fartsy place lol...
