Dodge his attacks till his back is to you. Then wail on him. Thats how I beat him.

It's all about technique and endurance. As said before, dodge and go berserk on his back. And don't bother trying to block his hit, just dodge.

this was the hardest part of the game, lol really i would have to say it was, for me anyways... i had to have my friend do it causeafter i hit him like 20+ times i thought it was impossible seing as you only got to hit anyother guy like 10 times
just keep at it if you havent

can anyone one tell me when they usally fight at bowerstone is there a certain time or what? i have beat the bowerstone one a couple times on my different characters but i never really paid attention to when they were there

Talk to the guy with the Mohawk with the green aura to get in.

And wait til it's pretty dark - you'll see a green dot on your mini map legging it towards the Bowerstone Quay - that's your mohawk guy...

Ya the quest is pretty easy if you have full strength and stuff at the guild spot but still you have to hit the guy quite a few times

Haha, now that you mention it - the Chief is probably the only "boss" in Fable I actually had to spend a few tries at before I actually beat him. Jack of Blades aint got nothin' on the Chief.

Try using flurish on the cheif when you're NOT doing the fist fighters quest. He's invincible.

I block and learn his pattern it something like 1, 2, and 3 but then he switches it up 1, 2, 3... 4. I had a hard time the first time but now I beat him on the first or second time I try. On move that helps is to immediately get into blocking stance then target him. This will allow you to roll when you move. If you move to the side twice while targeting him you'll be behind him. Be careful though he can turn and punch in one move.

I'm assuming you use numbers and patterns too in games?.. That's what I do. The only want I can learn. Just like Race tracks, I need to KNOW the track before I can beat it. I need to KNOW the number of moves, and the number of swings. Most games are numerical anyway.
