Yup, Mass Effect tied with it for the Best Action/Adventure game too 
It also only just missed out of claiming the Game Of Show by them.
However Mass Effect already boasts quite a few awards, heres the list:

I heard about the awards a long time ago and i was reading the Golden Joystick Awards website and thought id check this one too. Its also on CVG:

Im surprised Assassin's Creed didn't make it up there  Also, I can't believe Halo 3 only got one award, especially because it's almost completed, so it's not like they didn't have enough screenshots or video footage to judge the game on...

Well it won lots of awards a while ago as critics have been playtesting it for a while now, it also had the Beta and won awards on that.

Honestly, I think Assassin's Creed could kick Mass Effect's ***. I guess we just don't have enough good information about it to pull it up into the awards 
Bioshock hands down is the most creative and innovative first person shooter out there. Good for them.
Can't wait for Fable 2 to get into the action.

I wouldnt have thought so to be honest plus there is MUCH more info out there about Assassins Creed except the story etc, Bioware are the gods of RPG's and with the branching storylines, character and weapon customisation, dialog choices, GFX, multiple endings and also replayabily Mass Effect will be one of best games of last 5 years. As much as im looking forward to Assassins Creed, Mass Effect is number 2 maybe even number 1 with Halo 3 on my list of anticipated games. Bioshock is definitely up there to, its been a real long time since ive seen such an innovative first person shooter.

The thing is, i'm entitled to my opinion. Sorry bro, but as much as I think Mass Effect is a huge adventure/action rpg (and I think it's cool too), Assassins Creed for me is a cooler game.
I love the whole multiple endings and customization, but I still favor Assassin's Creed. You point out some really awesome things about Mass Effect, though, but you can't convince me. Good points anyway  I'm just saying that I will enjoy Assassins Creed over Mass Effect.

Each to their own and all that
Both games will be 2 of best games of the year and Mass Effect will boost sales of 360 for sure, along side Halo 3 and Bioshock etc.
