GTA IV Censored In Australia

The Australian Office of Film and Literature Classification has forced Rockstar to produce an edited version of Grand Theft Auto IV, in order for it to get an Australian release.

As reported by The Sydney Morning Herald, in order to obtain an MA15+ rating down under, the GTA developers were forced to remove material that was deemed too much for release.

The MA15+ rating is the highest classification certificate available in the country.

A spokesperson for Rockstar confirmed yesterday that the company did produce a special version in order to comply with Australian law, but declined to reveal what had been cut. We're pretty sure the internet will be all over that once the game is release.

So far, the game has received an 18 rating in Britain, New Zealand and Germany, and a M17+ in America.

Why you damning Britain? They could have took the manhunt 2 approach and banned it (for a while) or gave it, its justified 18 rating which they did...
