As a kid i had the same dream as a lot of people here, work for a big games design company and earn cash for doing something fulfilling, interesting and enjoyable. I even started the first steps towards it and went to college to learn it. However after cash started to get lower and i started to get older i realised that it wasnt practical for me to spend a further 7 years after college at Uni, i needed money. So i went to work to learn some cash and i was going to earn as much as i could and then go back to Uni and continue. However i got into a decent paid job that wasnt far from my house and my life took a different path at the time and for many reasons i never went back into education and continued it.

Good Luck to you and hope you do, many things will get in the way but if its something you truly set you mind to you will do it. I got steered away and let my life go down another path and now im set on another course, running an evil empire of games forums instead.

I too was close to realising my dream but then I had a kid and other stuff happened, so it's taken a permanent backseat. Would never happen now, but it was nice to know how close I got all the same...

I was a singer in a band - was offered a recording contract for when I finished my exams the next summer but wound up homeless, jobless and pregnant instead (as you do

) so being in a band was no longer an option...

Hardest thing was watching one of my mates take my place instead and be incredibly successful - although the band he was in has since broken up.

Yeah, but I had new priorities, such as a child and whatever - I believe things happen for a reason. I was way too soft back then to deal with anything so I probably would have cracked at the first sign of difficulty

These days I've got far more staying power and a thicker skin...
