As has been expected there will be a Halo 4

t seems that the Halo Trilogy is over with Halo 1 and Halo 2 on the Xbox and Halo 3 on the Xbox 360, but reports state that Bungie has told attendees at a secret Microsoft event that Halo 4: Halo The Movie Game is in development for the Xbox 360.
The reports are stating that Bungie is already hard at work on the game and that it will be an official game titled Halo - The Movie Game which will be released day and date with the official Halo movie in development.
Bungie spoke at an exclusive Microsoft event this month and informed to the world that Master Chief will be back in his Halo role on the Xbox 360 not too far from now in a franchise game which will coincide with the release of the movie.

Rumor: Halo 4 Confirmed

It looks like Halo 4 might have just been accidentally confirmed, not that news of a sequel to the Xbox 360's top exclusive would be surprising at all.
The Bungie guys were kind enough to donate a voice cameo in Halo 3 for non-profit Hollywood Arts, a group that "reaches homeless young people through the arts." But in the description of the official eBay auction for the cameo it seems that some legumes were spilled.

Voiceover will be recorded at Blindlight Studios in Hollywood, CA before May 15, 2007 or this package will have to redeemed for Halo 4.

While this seems pretty straight forward, I suppose it's possible the Hollywood Arts people jumped to some conclusions when they said there was a Halo 4, but I sorta doubt it

I dont think this will end up having any truth to it personally as the movie has been in works for a while and although its had some setbacks with funding it will be out soonish. They are meant to be riding on success of Halo 3 for next 3 years at least and working on other projects and i just cant see them tying another Halo game in this soon after Halo 3. Would make the whole 'Finish the Fight' thing seem silly if it came out so soon and also make it look like they are only doing it for the money. Plus with a name like Halo 'The Movie Game' just doesnt have that Bungie thought to it or feeling so im taking this with a pinch of salt.

I doubt those rumors are true. Bungie has said multiple times that H3:Recon is the only Halo related project they're working on at the moment.
