Hardest Quest? and Why..

I'd have to say the hardest quest for me in fable was: "Rescue the Archaeologist". I am way too slow when it comes to timers, I always forget its there, or take my time anyway because, hey, its Fable(?) the casual game. Even when I am consentrating I get fail!

I've done it so many times, where suddenly there is 15 seconds left with two minion mages. >_< Grr the mages!

I finally figured out how to finish it with time to spare, and you should all try this it's great fun. Get beserk (more 'up'd' the better) and when you reach the timed ending, run all the way down to the dock letting all of the minions chase you (chances are you will get hit a few times, bring potions). Then, when you reach the dock, go beserk and with one swing of your sword/axe/hammer/fryingpan/whatever you knock like 5 down, its so much fun. Especially if you hate minions...so...so...very. ..much...

None were hard. Mostly stressful. "Rescue the Archaeologist" was stressful since Minions have high HP and that combo-breaker of theres.

As someone said before, Fable is a breeze once you know the combat system. And if you are a hardcore gamer, it makes it even easier.

But if I had to choose a truly "hard" quest, it would be the "Necropolis" quest. Just running around, finding the wrong thing, getting ambushed, ice trolls, ghosts scaring you out of nowhere... it makes for one helluva ride.

Yeah, I gotta agree with the three other people. It took me an eternity to beat the Rescue The Archaeologist quest. I never died, and I even got all the way through, but to rescue him you had to kill ALL the Minions on the path. I could kill them, but no matter how well I fought I couldn't kill them all. I think I finally beat it by buying a better weapon or cranking up my Strength. Since I usually fight with Will or longbow, I'm not sure why I remember using mostly my ax there, but I'm sure there was a reason.

Actually, now that I think on it, what I finally did was go buy a Master Axe. Those Minions didn't last long with that.

Not to be all Up myself..But Rescue the Archeologist was **** easy for me.. i mean i ran down there then took them all on doing infernal wrath and stuff..and force push if they got to close..i usually had about 1 minute left to spare..

See I did the whole Infernal Wrath thing but that's what slowed me down...I probably wasn't strong enough for it to make much of a dent in their health but I got so mad when they kept getting up after I blatantly fried them over and over again...

my hardest quest was the arena, since i took all boasts, it was hard, but i completed it first try.....

off topic i guess: my favorite quest was Rescue the Archaeologist because i had like 40 guards following me, and it felt like i was a leader of a battalion lol

Oh... you did it in TLC... actually, I don't even remember doing it in TLC. It was in 1 it was hard, in TLC I blew right through it without remembering. I know because at first I was trying to beat it with spells, because (yeah, I'm remembering more now) I had lots of Will experience. There definitely wasn't any Infernal Fury or Divine Wrath, because if there had been I would have gotten it. No, I just kept trying to beat it by cranking up Slow Time to give my little steel ax more time to cut through the Minions. Then I bought the Master ax and blew through it. Bankrupted myself in the process, but blew through it.

How did that help you? I remember having a number of guards, and maybe it was on that quest, but I quickly got sick of them. It's way to damn easy to hit people who were your allies by accident and turn them against you.

The Arena was easy, though. I don't remember what all the quests were, but the only ones I took were "Do the Quest Naked" because it's easy and "Spare as Many Enemies as Possible" because I was a good guy. I know there was another, mutually exclusive to the second one I did, "Kill as many enemies as possible" or something; but I don't remember any others. Was there a "fight only with fists and no magic" boast?

Yea i agree with the hobbe cave one, stupid boy always gets himself killed.. took me like 5 goes to do it got me pretty angry!

but Arena cave easy, but if u take ALL boasts it will be hard as!

I know it's sad, but I died SO many times fighting [*spoiler*]That flippin scorpion at the end of the arena rounds, toook me about 6 tries to kill him (mainly cuz i had no potions left)[/*spoiler*]
