Sorry Adam, I can't post two replies for two different people.

You cast a shield spell the second before it hits you. It nails you to the ground and you automatically can't breathe because of the pressure on your chest. DO you decide to:

a. lay there and hope you don't die (you little *****)
b. try to escape using an unorthodox method

Re: A Hero's Journey

You have a horrible way of reasoning don't you....

You lay there suffocating under the pressure of the beam crying quietly. Slowly you begin to blackout and then you slowly drift away into the afterlife. You died like a *****, any real hero would have done something more heroic. I use the term "hero" loosely. You are more like a zero, pointless and stupid for not using your natural instincts.

You hear screams from the people trapped inside and explosions from the flammable alcohol. You feel a wave of sadistic pleasure sweep over you and you start laughing strangely while watching people run out of the building on fire. About a minute passes and the pleasure you felt has gone. You don't notice it until the last second but a huge support beam has fallen and you are directly in its path. Do you:

a. dodge left
b. dodge right
c. cast a protective shield spell and hope it protects you from the beam

Thanks to keekos we get to start over. The Hero has already been killed three or four times in the story so lets give it another shot.

You dodge left narrowly escaping the falling beam. It smacks the ground and shatters and throws flaming splinters in all directions. A large piece stabs into your unprotected hand. Its burning your wrist and impaling you at the same time. You pat out the fire and rip it out. You are in extreme pain. You decide to:

a. Rap it in cloth
b. Leave it and get the fark outta there

You high-tail it off into the mountains with your hand in excrutiating pain. You rap it with some extra cloth to slow the bleeding. Luckily it isn't too bad because of the cold weather, which is causing your heart beat to slow. You trek for an hour into the snowy mountains. Do you decide to:

a. Set up camp here
b. Keep going and try to find a cave
c. Just keep going

Re: A Hero's Journey

You decide to keep on pushing, because that is what a true hero does, to find some shelter. You twist and turn through the labyrinth of mountain paths thick with snow. You are getting lost, cold, and confused. Finally you come across a monstrous cave which bellows as the wind blows by. You know this area has snow trolls, some of which dwell in caves. Do you decide to:

a. "I'll take my chances, going into a cave that might have a troll is better than dying out here in this freezing hell-hole...."

b. "I'll keep going, I'd rather die out here than be squished into a pulp and then frozen into a mush sickle by a troll..."

c. Fire an arrow into the cave to see if you can draw out
anything

Re: A Hero's Journey

You fire an arrow into the abyss like cave. It takes a second but you then hear a loud grunt, and sure enough something comes forth. With little light you can hardly make it out but then you see it. It isn't an Ice Troll like you were expecting, but it is a massive Ogre. Almost 8 feet tall it dwarfs you, and it has a horrible stench. It it wielding a gruesome cross between a mace and an axe. Its weapon is covered in dried blood and entrails, probably what is causing the smell. You know you are in a bad condition to fight so what do you do?

Do you:

a. Try and fight it in your condition
b. Try and lose it in the winding pathways of the mountain
c. use your guile and cunning to try to use is disadvantages to your advantages

Re: A Hero's Journey

You know you can't fight it in your condition, and you know running randomly through the mountains will get you even more lost so with what little time you have before it notices you, you formulate a plan. You start calling to it and tantalizing it your way. You yell "Hey stinker!" and "Hey this way arseface" to draw it where you want it. It quickly builds up speed and it charging headlong at you. It gets near you and swings its club but you use a spell to dodge it quickly. You guide it back past the cave and toward a slope that runs up the mountain. You speed up the mountain side with the ogre at your heels, quickly gaining ground. You look over your shoulder to see it begin to tire out. But that split second look left you at the edge of a cliff. On your toes you barely stop yourself from falling over the edge, thanking Avo you didn't fall to your death. The ogre is just around the bend and you feel its stomp coming closer. It see's you and walks closer, closer still, closer, so close you smell its breath and see the moon light reflecting off its eyes. It almost looks like it will show mercy, but that is a fantasy you could only dream of. It grips its mace-axe like thing and does a powerful spin and you move left, but you slip and are now hanging on the edge of the cliff. You see the ogre still swinging when suddenly you notice it too slips. It drops over the edge and tries to grab hold of something, but its hands are just too big, and it slides down, down, down the mountain until you hear a thump. The ogre is gone, but what awaits you....

a. Try to scale down the mountain
b. Try to use all your remaining strength to pull yourself up
c. Push yourself with all your might and try to get far enough out to hit the tree line and grab hold of a branch

Make your choice wisely as this may very well decide the fate of the story...
