I see life through a window
Wavy glass distorts the scene
Hiding from the drunken widow
Ripping at my seams

I see life through a mirror
But all I see is lies
Reflections washed with bitter tears
The shards still cut my eyes

And in my dreams the jackals stalk me
Seeing all I cannot be
I sought to save you from the nightmares
Now that’s all that’s left of me

I see life through a mist
And myself is slightly blurred
History left me hopeless
Told me not to speak a word

I see life through the shadows
And the darkness feels like home
It walks me to the gallows
It’s the only thing I’ve know

this one's not autobiographical for once... I guess I ended up writing a story of sorts in the form of prose... it's pretty self explanatory...

Final Plea

I stand before the chair
Electric death to suit my crimes
I’ve made my peace with what is fair
Now be dishonest one last time
I’ll not proclaim my innocence
It matters not who hears me now
What I must know begs ignorance
Of all you’ve heard of me somehow

From the ground
