This is an official Freak warning: Anyone and everyone who feels the need to pettilly berate someone on this forum is not allowed. You may not be living a nice life or have the stablest of minds, but that doesn't give you reason to come onto a Fable Forum and project your insecurities on strangers. There is a place for that called 4Chan, and many of you seem like fallen /b/tards or are at least acting like them.

Respect this website, respect its members, or I will not respect you. And when that happens all bets are off.

I don't think he means that. I'm pretty sure he means that we aren't allowed to put down other members anymore, especially to the point of flaming or harassing. Again, the only downside I see for me is when I tell quintuple-posters to go read up on netiquette in an epic twenty paragraph post that belittles the guy in every way possible and getting banned for it.

I'm guessing if I joined someone's fight and told one of them to STFU, GTFO or simply kill himself, it won't solve any problem or cease any conflicts at all, only fanning the flames more, creating and escalating more tensions.

It's better and wiser to leave the mods or the admins to handle the issue.

While this may be true to some extent, it'd be good if we could settle things ourselves and not require staff intervention.
But as you said, inflammatory remarks only feed the flames. Wouldn't it be wonderful, then, if there was a way for us, normal members, to handle these things in such a way that doesn't further the trolling but doesn't ring the staff's doorbells either.

I can't tell you how many times I raged when someone IMd me telling (note: not asking, telling) me to log on to another site and deal with a troll. I ultimately locked all of the threads that they (they = everyone involved) have ever posted in, then deleted all of the posts they ever made. This works, I don't care who says it doesn't. But it shouldn't have to come to that, and this practice makes the place seem like an unfriendly cesspool of flaming morons and trolls.

If people were mature enough to intervene in a manner that doesn't throw gasoline onto the situation but instead de-escalates the matter at least a smidge, that would be helpful and no one would need to nag the staff, forcing them to open up a case of banhammer. Of course, there are exceptions, and I won't name names, but some people just need to be banned and tossed in a fire alive.

I know I'm guilty of feeding the trolls, and as I've stated before, I'm working on it. I'm taking steps to turn all that around. I encourage others to do the same so we can make this a more family-friendly environment, attract more people which means more ladies for me to ogle.

Ive had the same thing, lost count of the amount of times ive been called a 'Power hungry Nazi fascist' for telling mindless trolling morons to follow the rules or be banned (its really not that difficult). I mean we even have them written down for anyone who has been living under a rock and doesnt know the basic forum guidelines. These trolls sure do love some Nazi talk though... idiots. I dont really care about it, just unnecessary crap to deal with after a day at work that i could do without.
