I was wondering if anything illegal would conflict with me making a fan-made game based off of the fable universe?
It will contain sprites made by us, the music, the sounds and everything else.
It's called Hobbe RPG, you play as a hobbe and run through the world buying new weapons armor, make gold, do dungeon runs. Ect, the budding 2D RPG.
Here's where I'm confused.
It's a fan made game.
I will credit lionhead, PM.
This IS NOT BEING USED FOR ANY PROFIT, this is just for fun, I will not be gaining any profit off of this.
Now my question,
would this be illegal?
If it is, I will halt the production. And delete the files a.s.a.p
I am truly inspired by lionhead's work everyday of my life, I am only 15, but lionhead has made me feel I have a good future in game devolpement.

The aiming system
How the game will function? Well you will aim with your mouse, like a FPS, but not first person, you will get a crosshair for your gun, and a rectangle when you switch to cutlass and a big square when you switch to fireworks/bombs.
Would you like to move with your mouse or wasd, or arrow keys?
Awsome anything with hobbe in it is awsome No i seriously think you should go ahead. I imagine it would be turned based or birds eye if 2D. I think actually hobbes might play a key role in the story but maybe not main character, maybe someone who grew up with the hobbes. And main enemys could be other tribes
First of all, I knew you where going to the the first to see this, LOL.
Second, the point is the main character is a hobbe, a fable game away from fable.
Third, tribes ARE A AWESOME IDEA, but I don't have the type of knowledge too make it so they like you or attack you on sight, but it is infact possible.
Games with Orcs who are similar to the typical white trash.. i.e me
Im sure if you asked yahoo answers for tips or even google you could find some tips on making games. Because tribes would be awsome i could help with name etc. You must have easter eggs, from Fable 1, 2 and possibly other games as brief appearences. Maybe for your first version you could have alignment and if you can fiddle around with it in further patches you could change it to tribes.

why not make it 3d? jsut use graphics from fable its not hard you just need basic understanding of c++ and a 3d editing program such as 3ds max or blender and then just make animations with a 3d studio and modeling program ex microsoft 3d animation. and SHWAM you got yourself a 3d game! lmao cost estimate $3,850 and bandwidth to host it around 4GB again hosting takes more server space im sure admins would agree a minigame would simply take to much bandwidth on the server rather it be 100mb or 1gb. i have server expierience and believe me, they get hot rofl. well i hope i was of some help =P
