How the Hell do you turn on Subtitles in Halo 3?

Topic title.

I've looked ruddy everywhere and for the life of me I cannot work out where the hell it is I can enable subtitles for Halo 3. I remember coming across the option before at some point but for whatever reason I cannot find it now.

Rant: Why on earth did Bungie have to go and make the background music and ambience in Halo 3 about four million times louder than the narrative? Madness. Just... madness. I can't hear a bloomin' thing over that theme tune and I have no idea what is going on story-wise.

On a sidenote: If anyone would be interested in joining me and a few others in a game of Halo 3 co-op of Legendary with the majority of skulls enable then that would be just lovely. Hopefully we can make up a foursome or something.

But yeah, how the hell do you turn on the subtitles for Halo 3? 100 rep points to anyone that can help me out. Ta!

start button > settings > screen settings > subtitles ON

Thank you, Hex! You're a life-saver. How I missed that I have no idea. At least now I can find out just what the heck it was that Master Chief and Cortana were going on about at that one point.

oh yeah, and I'd love to join up with you on a game, but I can't today as I have class very late and wont be home until around 4am your time

That would be awesome. Now Andy has managed to get his internet sorted it would be cool to play through Halo 3's campaign with the two of you if it felt up to it. I'll see if I can wrangle up an extra partner, too. Despite numerous attempts I still haven't managed to set up a four player co-op session.

Sounds good to me now all my Internet issues are sorted... now if only i could figure out how to set this router up (cursed things with 2 pages of instructions in English).

Is that the same D-Link 655 router you ordered yesterday? If so, Play.com must really like you since it normally takes a week plus for anything I order to arrive. :blink:

What kinda trouble are you having with the router? Might sound daft but I recommend just sticking a really thin pencil or biro or whatever straight into the back reset-hole-thingy and trying to install the software from there. For some reason the router gave me hella' trouble until I reset it and it was as right as rain.

Installation went fine, just unsure if i have the cables in right places as there are no clear diagrams. Wont detect the Internet once i connect the cables to it.

I had same exact problem mate. Dunno why the folks who design these routers can't just make these straight forward, eh? Anywho, have a crack at resetting the router to factory settings. Worked a treat for me.

I'll have a go when i got some more time, ive always disliked routers and the whole setup process of them.
