I admire the intrigue design of Maul's skin, and I think he is a very talented person. But its just something I don't like, looks a bit too sci-fi lol...

Yes, that is correct. It is an adaption to be used in Fable. Tattoos were never ment to make you look like a Sith anyway - I think it is pretty good if you consider what the creator had to work with.
