Issues with TLC and wish list for Fable 2

I've played twice now. The game does a lot of things well such as humor, most of the spell animations, and character models, but there were a few things I didn't like or made no sense.

The Sword of Aeons is too weak. The first time I played I forgot to check how powerful the sword was before throwing it into the vortex. So this time I checked and it did 230 damage. Theresa tells me if I kill her, I'll have the power Jack wanted. Being an evil character I killed her, but the sword still does only 230 damage. That makes no sense. Killing Theresa was supposed to make the sword more powerful. The Solus sword does 314 damage. They keep saying how much power Jack will have if he gets the sword, and then it does 84 less damage than the Solus sword so I don't get it.

There are a few spell animations that I think could have been better. Most of the spells have good animation. Force Push, however, has poor animation. When you use it, he just stands there and then there's a pulse going out in all directions. He doesn't do anything to activate it. For Enflame, for example, he slams his fist on the ground and then fire goes out in all directions, but for Force Push he just stands there. Since it's called Force Push, I would have him take a step forward and push forward with both hands as though he's pushing someone away. Another one that could be better is Infernal Wrath. The description of the animation on the XP spending platform is wrong since it's actually just a copy of Divine Fury. Maybe the developers didn't have time to create the animation for it so they just copied Divine Fury. Currently, these are the only spell animations I would complain about, although I haven't tried all the spells yet.

There are also some very small things that were maybe just oversights. The fishing line is invisible. From the end of the fishing pole to the water, there is no fishing line. That's very minor but it looks a little dumb when you're fishing with an invisible fishing line. Gold earned is flashed on the screen too fast. If you're not looking at the lower-left corner of the screen, you'll miss it. I want to know how much gold I've earned after doing a quest and it's only displayed for about a second.

A couple of times after killing an enemy, the gold or XP orbs landed somewhere where I couldn't get them. Once the orbs landed behind a fence and there was no way to get to it. Pushing the shift key to pull them in didn't work. Another time an orb landed behind a stone staircase. I could see it but there was no way to get back there and the shift key didn't help. Another time, some gold landed on top of the rail next to a staircase. There was no way to climb up on the rail. The problem with the orbs only happened twice and the one with the gold only happened once so it's a minor bug.

Besides addressing the above issues, none of which are major, in Fable2 I would like to see shields so a warrior could carry a shield with the left hand while holding a one-handed sword in the right hand. I would also like to be able to explore a bit more off the beaten path. Currently you have to stay on the path for the most part. You can't leave the path and go exploring in the woods. Fable reminds me of on-line games (WoW and GW) in many ways, so I hope Fable2 doesn't adopt the 2 things that turned me off of GW and WoW: automated combat and no spoken dialog.

Earning gold is too easy; it should be harder. I think having to learn some money-making skills similar to what you find in other games would make it more interesting. Skinning would let you skin animals you've killed. You could then sell the hides. Mining would let you mine for raw gold. Forging would let you forge your own weapons which you could then keep or sell. Making it harder to earn gold, while having more ways to do it, would improve the game. Overall I think it's a good game with a lot of funny scenes / dialog. I just think it could be better. Just my $0.02.

I wanna buy TLC.. so far just beaten the original... Liked it so much I think I've almost beaten it 100% (gotten everything, done all quests of every kind, own all buyable buildings etc). I've never beaten it as an evil character yet though... I might do that with TLC. Can't wait for Fable2 though.

Oh, and from how u described it, I do hope they dont have any little glitches like that in F2. Like you said they arent really bad but enough little things like that can drive you crazy sometimes lol

Its power was taken down after people said it was overpowered in the original Fable.

Fable Legendary Weapons

Its power in Fable was 550 originally.

Well, I think you're right. There are many things that I'd like to see fixed, besides money. At one point you're a LEGENDARY HERO you SHOULD be rich and afford numerous houses. You saved Albion from numerous encounters. But...thats just me.

The only real problem i had with Fable was the way your character aged.
I think time should have more to do with events, quests, and actual days passed than experience.
Why?
After I first go to the Grey House, I find that it is an excellent place to level up at the beginning of the game.
So before I even get to Twin Blade, I'm like 38 years old or something like that.
That's ridiculous.
