As Tsuyu stated general discussion and 'spam' are different things. I was using the term 'spam' for this thread as a generalisation rather than a thread description. 60% of the threads we have in the off topic section id personally generalise as 'spam' but not for the fact that people are posting pointless comments like 'OMG UBER PWNZ' for no reason or whatever. Just topics that are made as people are bored and they make a thread about the first thing on their mind. Id class them as 'spam' but not the kind to warrant a thread closure as there is some discussion going on. Also were not made with the sole intention of raising post counts in most cases which some of these threads are.
