God I hate this man. . . I dont see any one in the streets trying to perform fatalities like in Mortal Kombat. I dont see kids taking turns hitting each other with over-sized swords like in final fantasy. Im not saying games cant influence people, they can, easily even-but not o the extent these people claim; unless the person is severly disturbed (psychologically) or extremely and I mean extremely influenceble (in which case a movie or another person could have talked him into it.) The fact is we'll never know, because he's dead.

I myself own guns, and I feel I have the right to. But Im all for putting heavier restrictions on who can obtain guns and how. Its stupid that some gun stores dont even require a background check, I dont want to loose my right to carry guns, cause hell shooting is fun, but I dont ever want to have to read a story like this again. Somthing needs to be done , but im not sure what that somthing is.

Hey, none of us do. I don't want to lose my right to arms either, but there is literally no simple solution. It will take a long time, maybe decades to resolve this, maybe never. But until that happens bickering and debating won't solve anything. The authorities will have to deal with it the best they can.

It turns out the killer bought the weapons from a pawn shop across the street from his campus. Pawn shops usually don't run background checks, and its usually a simple "give me this and you get that" type of transaction. So he didn't buy his gun from a run of the mill gunstore.

There is one solution: Remove the right to bear arms, with all that comes with it. Granted, Americans will be p-o'ed and with the ammount of guns already in circulation they might never truly get rid of all of them.

As long as it is this easy to get guns, insane people like Chu will go on mass-slaughters like this. I doubt this was the last one.

It would do more than **** some people off. You would have outright confrontations left and right. Especially were I live. You make guns illegal and red-necks and the like would start large scale protest, probably holding guns. Then when authorities try to take the guns you have a shoot out, wich brings more death. Just tacking away somthing that is so ingrained in our culture is next to impossible to do without consequence. It would have to be very, very gradual.

Like I said before, Im all for heavier restrictions. Mabey making it mandatory to have your psychi examined before you can own one, raise age requirments and the like. That would be a good start. I would also institute much heavier punishments for failure to comply with gun laws, which could act as a deterent, or mabey just make people more mad. But yeah, itll take a very long time to reverse somthing like the right to bear arms, well that is- a long time to do it safely imo.

Oh heres a point:

In Engand I have CCF in my school, which stands for Combined Cadet Force. They basically treat you like a soldier. Once you join, you must stay in for 2 years. Most people regret it since the weapons are surprisingly heavy for their sizes and they make you do all kinds of Army-esque training.

I dunno if you have it in America.
