Jack's Tale
This isn't actually a story, so much as a poem that tells the story of Jack of Blades in the way I imagined it. Any comments or critisisms are encouraged!
Jack’s Tale
Ah, ‘tis a sad tale I have to tell,
Of the death of a country and a Hero that fell
‘Twas from grace you see; take no literal sense,
Now sit by the fire and I will commence
Once, long ago, before humans arose,
When earth was a land filled with many woes
There lived a great being, already aged
His powers unrivalled and his soul too enraged
Jack of Blades was his name, a name to be feared
Whom even great Skorm fearfully revered
No daemon would cross him, nor mention his name
For fear that their souls he would torture and maim
And such was the way that the earth began
Until, one day, came the presence of man
He chased out the daemons, controlling the land,
Changing the order, and naming it Vande
But the presence of daemons would not go away,
Their evil still lingered, causing dismay
And thus came the Heroes, brave and strong,
To protect their world from the evil and wrong
And Jack, seeing this, grew angrier still,
He would not be suppressed against all his will
Being cunning of mind, he created a plan
He’d put a stop to the age of man
A mask he did make, ‘twas a thing of pure evil
A perfect tool to cause his upheaval
He left it for man to take and to wear
Creating a body they both had to share
And thus Jack began his rampage of death,
Defeating all humans and stealing their breath
The Hero he dwelt in had fallen from grace
The day he had laid the mask on his face
Yet one day it seemed, all killing was done
Jack had completed what he had begun
Vande was destroyed, a desolate land
No longer touched by man’s meddling hand
But humans are smart, this much I know,
And so they escaped on the ocean’s strong flow
To the west they sailed, away from Jack’s brawn
And created the land we call Albion
