If you read my post carefully, you can see that I am neither for nor against the killing of pixel children. The moral argument was to highlight that, yes, socially acceptable as it may be to kill adults,
morally, killing an adult is just as reprehensible as killing a child. There is no sliding scale of morality.
As for confronting you, in my original post, when you made no moral arguments and merely said that the game would never sell... well I wasn't directing my feedback at you. I quoted another poster and was pointing out to them that if killing children is "...[M]orally sick...", then the moral standard must be applied to adults as well. Socially constructed norms (killing adults okay, etc) are not the same as moral principle as there are universal moral truths (Please don't confuse what I am saying with religious tenets). You would do well adding a little philosophical enlightenment to your being before you assume that I'm for the mass slaughter of pixel children. As I said before, I do not care if they remain in God mode or not, I was merely pointing out the flaws of a previous argument.
Let me see, what else did you say... ah, as for the asinine remark about people not wanting the death of pixel children in games compared to a cult, well you missed that figure of speech entirely. I was going for the "Big Brother" angle with this, and merely illustrating governments that begin to impose ever increasing levels of censorship and rules of subordination will eventually dictate how its populace can think, eat, sleep, dress, walk, talk until we end up with a nation from, my personal favorite, 1984. Some people believe we're already there... they're called Libertarians (American Gov. humor). (For the sake of being transparent, 1984 was a literary reference).
If you were referring to the comment where someone quoted you in saying that the game would never sell, then you did mention that "...[T]hen you are a sadistic freak with no morals." You see, the no morals part is what I honed in on. Again, your assumptions do not allow for the killing of pixel children (paralleling to reality), but as you said adults are different. This, is a social construction, and morality shouldn't be used in an argument based on the underlying social construction framework.
Again, truly sorry for missing your post. I'm not so much obtuse, though you put it much more colorfully, as I am unobservant at times. Just remember, unabashedly screaming at and insulting your opponent does not a valid point make.
