As for muslim countries, many of them have a really, really f*cked up justice-system. Today, I read the news and appearently a girl got raped by 15 men and she was sent to prison for 10 years. Why? Because she was being unfaithful towards her husband. The rapists got 1 year each for kidnapping (not rape)...

This case, along with the one about the girl who was raped by 15 men and then she was put in jail are the reasons I find the way Islamic Law and Culture to be faulty, and horrifying.

Apparently, in their terms, since being raped is being unfaithful to your husband, being assaulted must be being unfaithful to yourself or something to that effect... It all doesn't add up to me. By now, you'd think someone within their own culture would have realized these flaws and changed them, but not yet apparently.

I think that many people who do want to change these laws are overcome with fear, simply because they know that its extremely difficult to do so and they would have little support, because it is an almost totalitarian rule in many Middle Eastern countries.

Yeah, makes you wonder the reasoning behind a religion which has so many irrational laws. How do you expect anyone to convert or follow your faith if the principles of your faith are so unfair and controversial. Sometimes tradition is good, but when people take it overboard like this, it makes the religion itself into more of a law system than an actual following.
