So I went to the boat at Westcliff for my next step in The Spire quest, and I go up to the captain there standing on the dock and nothing happens. The glowing circle disappears when I step up to the captain, but there are no options to talk or anything.

I tried giving him the "thumbs up". My quest log just keeps telling me to "go to the dock when you're ready to leave".

Is there a prereq quest I have to do or something? The only quests I haven't finished yet are the open ones (donate to the temple of light, sculptor, rescue the slaves, etc..."

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Stay in the circle, and wait for him to talk.

I did wait for a couple of seconds. Maybe I should wait longer?

I would wait till he talks. If he doesn't I don't know what to tell you. Maybe save and reload?

Make sure you've given Barnum some gold to help Westcliff out before you go.

I gave Barnum the gold quite a while ago. That hasn't gone anywhere either. I haven't heard any word from him. And I still can't get the captain to talk to me. I followed the trail to the dock, where the glowing circle awaits around the captain, then stood there in the circle, with Hammer, for like 5 minutes, and nothing happens.

I noticed there were two bandits standing at the end of the dock behind the captain. I shot them dead, but it didn't help the situation. I am still stuck at the docks.

Now...one thing that occured to me...I walked through those gates in Westcliff that lead down to the dock before I was ready to go, and Hammer was standing there. She started talking to me and telling me goodbye and stuff. Well i wasn't ready to leave, so I turned around and continued my questing. She is still following me all over.

Could that have messed it up some how?

That might have glitched it. Sucks if it's game greaking (which it sounds like it is)

I'm assuming your save isn't before that point? If it is just reload.

No my save isn't before that. So it sounds like I'm boned. Guess I'll just start over...sigh.
