Limited Edition Content

Okay, so the Limited Edition comes with a bunch of crap that I don't care about and some extra, downloadable content.

Now, I was under the impression that the content was exclusive to the Limited Edition; but when I went by Gamestop to see if I could upgrade my preorder now that the price is ten dollars less and it doesn't come with a bunch of crap I could care less about; they said that I'd be able to download the extra content even if I didn't get the limited edition.

So, my question is thus: do any of you know anything about the extra limited edition content's availablility outside of the limited edition?

^Chances are the extra content will be available some months after the games release, in the same way that Ryu Hayabusa's Demon Costumes were a pre-order bonus with the game but were available to buy with MP's four months later

yeah but you may also have to pay for the downloadable content who knows really..... hopefully it'll be free in a few months but i doubt that microsoft would release major DLC that is advertised in a limited edition because then all the people who got the LE would be ****ed about spending 10 extra bucks for it when they could have got it free with everyone else....

Phew.... i should stop ranting for awhile...

I am afraid that Caboose is right, that they won't release it to everyone on Live because it's supposed to be a perk of getting the LCE.

But, on the other hand, they might just release it and charge, which is what I'm expecting, because if I can get it and pay for it later and only have to pay, what is it, sixty bucks now instead of seventy?

And yes, thanks to you both-- I probably won't upgrade my pre-order, I'll just hope it's released to everyone.

^chances are Microsoft will sell it for Microsoft Points which in turn costs consumers money and generates revenue. All the people who DONT get the LE version will pay for those extras so Msoft will want to cash in after the inital hype has subscided

I can hope. Of course, if they charge MORE than the equivalent of ten bucks, I would be SO ****ed.

I also haven't bought any points, so I'll have to do that later.

owww i really wanted the extra stuff but i suppose the other things are ok but you also get halo 3 Armour which i dont think you can get even for Microsoft point and you also get some other thing which might come out later

Er... did you read the thread? That's what I was asking about-- whether you could get the Spartan Armor/energy sword, the dungeon, and the Wreckager (whatver that may end up being) just by downloading from Live instead of with the LCE.

Did you see anything saying you couldn't get the armor and all without the LCE?

I've heard that the extra content will cost $12 to download it off Xbox LIVE with a standard Fable 2, where you only have to pay an extra $10 for the LE.

Ah, yeah, that's what I'm debating. Gamestop told me I could upgrade my preorder.

I'm with you on that.

I heard this being said at the Lionhead forums, so take it with a grain of salt, as it's not necessarily "official". But, I personally wouldn't expect the DLC to be priced less than the extra cost of the Limited Edition.

Grrr... I can't decide. On the one hand, I don't want to spend any more money than I have to. On the other, if I spend a little bit more on the extra content three weeks after I drop sixty bucks on the game, at least it doesn't hurt so bad.

I just don't know. Of course, my indecision will decide for me. I'll never get around to changing it, and just have to go with the normal edition.
