Re: Microsoft Looks To Sidestep Format Wars With HD Downloads
Movie downloads is in my opinion, definitely more efficient than just going out and purchasing a DVD or even a DVD box set. But there are some cons with video downloading.
The biggest con would be server costs. Plus alot of video downloading like movies, or TV shows would be restricted by Prepaid Card/Credit card payment, as oppose to just walking down the street, opening your wallet/pocket and paying in cash. Plus there's also the chance of your connection going out on you during a large download, and you already paid the money. So now you're stuck having to re-pay for the same download, especially if their service doesn't offer resumable downloading for broken downloads.
But I agree with Drakan, downloading and storing Movies/TV Shows on my hard drive does end up making plenty of room for our shelves.
