"Mod"?

I am new to the forums and it's wonderful and very helpful but what does the phrase "mod" mean?

Modderator (spelled wrong I think) but they make they enforce the rules on any given forum. Ya know, they're the ones that ban the rule breakers and what not. . . or is that the admins. . . great now Im confused.

I'm not sure what you meant so I'll put both the meanings down.

Mods in forums are like the police, getting rid of unwanted posts and users and stuff.

Mods in the gaming community are game modifications that change the way a game works or adds new content.

I didnt even think of the second one, guess cause Im a solid console gammer. We need to come up with a way to distinguish the two.
