Most Delayed Games Ever

CVG have recently released a list of the most delayed games ever (we all knew Duke Nukem Forever would be in there).

• Prey (3D Realms, 1995 - 2006)
  
• Duke Nukem Forever (3D Realms, 1997 - Present)
  
• Team Fortress 2 (Valve, 1998 - 2007)
  
• Too Human (Silicon Knights, 1999 - Present)
  
• Galleon (Confounding Factor, 1997 - 2004)
  
• S.T.A.L.K.E.R. :Shadow of Chernobyl (GSC Game World 2001 - 2007)
  
• StarCraft: Ghost (Blizzard, 2002 - Present)

I actually followed production of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. :Shadow of Chernobyl since it was announced for 6 years. Then got it and thought it was really good but rarely played it as i was to sidetracked.

Ten years in production i dont think it could ever live up to its development time so probably better if it stays a running joke.

Duke Nukem Forever Unfinished seems like it would be a bit more appropriate title.

Makes me sorta sad. The Ghost was hot as hell, and the game looked like fun...

You might wanna add the game Sadness to that list... It was in development in 2006.. and was set to release this year in the Q4... however it was just delayed again to 2009...

Started development in 2006 and was meant to come out this year? Meaning it had production time of 12 months? Being delayed to 2009 would give it a 3 year production cycle would it not? Thats about average for all games and its original release seems really fast if thats the case.

Well it's being developed for the Wii, which is in great need of some serious horror games, instead of the ported RE4 from Gamecube... but it would mean the game will be in development for 4 years, and there's no telling that it probably won't get delayed again, for another set # of years... chances are, it could end up like Ghost.
