USA is one of the few countries that still has it, yet it doesn't have any less rate of murders than any other country . infact, they've got alot more of them than, for example, Sweden. So I am against it for several reasons:
There are no proof that the threat of death penalty stops murders.
Spending the rest of your life in jail, rotting away and getting night-time visits by a big black guy named Bubba, is a far more fitting punishment for taking someone's life.
With life time in prision you've still got a chance to be proven innocent if you truly are, like advances in criminal science(DNA-testing for example. Wasn't many years ago people didn't even know what it was) that proves you didn't do it. If you get executed and then they find out you were innocent - what are they supposed to do? This isn't fantasy with a Raise Dead spell.
