Against, I'm afraid. Does it really make it right to sink to a killers level and kill them, just to try and get even? Life in prison could yield many things, whether good or bad, and they may even realize what they actually did. Otherwise, if they just die, they may never have a chance for forgiveness.

Pretty much everyone will have a differing opinion about the subject, and we can all argue the merits of for or against forever and a day. There will always be points and counterpoints to this and other hotly debated topics. I think very rarely will arguments like this sway one side or the other.

Basically, it comes down to what your morals are, and what you believe is the right thing to do. Since each person has a different set of morals, conflict ensues.

I did just say for on the poll but now I've changed my mind. After thinking about it I realised there was a better use for these people. While we have hugely overcrowded prisons in the UK, to the point where Police are told to bother arresting criminals, I don't think death is an appropriate punishment. To me, death is the easy way out. I think people in prison need to be put to work, they should work 12 hours a day for nothing but a slab of concrete and 2 meals a day. This way, the costs of running the prisons would be completely covered by the people residing in them. It would bring the price of manufacturing down in the UK, and keep alot of money in the UK that would usually be sent out to places like China and Taiwan.

I put it the wrong way: Murder in the states ranks higher, waaaay higher, on the list of causes of deaths than any other country.

OK I wasn't being serious about that Evil thing. But honestly, I think that it should be banned. I think that rotting away until you die in a high security prison is worse than death, and is what murderers should get instead.
