no cutscenes are they mad?
How can you possibly make a game without cutscenes? thats the best thing in a game and most of the time the cutscenes are the most memorible thing of it. what would kotor be without cutscenes? or halo,or halo2? or halo3? or jade empire?
this is basically the stupidest thing ever and im telling you without cutcenes the thing is going to suck

the game doesnt need cutscenes if its plannin on going 100% interactive. if thats the case, then cutscenes arent necessary.

The game won't need cutscenes. I think it will be refreshing and an innovative twist on Peter Molyneux's part.

Re: no cutscenes are they mad?
no there's not cutsceanes because PM wants to feel like you the one making every decision and making it more life like so you feel like the characther. watching long endless cutscenes will ruin it. Oblivion only had 2 cutscenes, at the beging and the end. there's one in the begining of fable 2 where the bird takes a sht and the camrea follows it to the players head so I guess that counts. or its more like a cinamatic which is cooler. the world isn't going to pause, just keeps lliving on.

Re: no cutscenes are they mad?
I think it will be hard if they realy want to make it interactive and have cutscenes because that would be hard to do. But its to much work, if they make it 100% interactive and have cutscenes then it would be one of the best rpg games.
But like in fable 1 they made it so that you will have to see the cutscenes just like the part where you have to get the prison key, they made it so you auto. miss the 1st time then the cutscene

Well if the player walks away from the character giving directions thats the players fault for walking away. And if the player does walk away like Aldamir said they can put him on a loop or you could just walk back up to him and talk to him again.

Re: no cutscenes are they mad?
I think they are going to do something similar to God of War, with the context sensitve buttons. YOu will have free reign but at points where a cuscene would work, they have you doing your thing and what not. GOW has cutscenes but the context sensitive part could have been a cut scene as well, instead of havingyou push buttons to finish someone you could have done what has always been done. You take the life bar all the way down and a cutscene shows you cutting off the head(etc.)And GOW is a great game. I am sure PM will surpass what GOW has already done.

Re: no cutscenes are they mad?
The Elder Scrolls Oblivion only had an opening video and an ending sequence and its one of the most popular next gen games to date. Im interested in how they will go about it, it may end up fantastic or really bad. But I think they can pull it off just fine.

Re: no cutscenes are they mad?
I think cutscenes were a neccesity with last gen games... cinematics in a cutscene were far superior to anything which could be rendered in gameplay, and games were not nearly so open ended as they are becoming as of late...you played the character, but were never really encouraged to fully become the character...
now it's just not neccessary any longer... rather, events can unfold around you, everything can matter... you can choose to walk away and ignore advice, interrupt a person if you don't feel like listening to them...
a cutscene always just plays out and dictates your actions to you... regardless fo what you may have wanted your character to do or not do, their actions are pre planned and you are a witness rather than a participant...
I do still enjoy cutscenes... they're very useful when external info is being put forth, for example... like a convo between people who are not present and unknown to your character, or as a flashback... I just feel that in the next gen of gaming a far more immersive element is needed in gaming and, if done well, eliminating cut scenes could help to achieve that.

Re: no cutscenes are they mad?
i still think the game would be much better with cutcenes, there are soooo many games that would be nothing without cutcenes. thats actually 1 of the reasons i didnt even play oblivion. all the best games in history have cutcenes and they would be nothing without them

I feel sorry for, since you dont know the joy that is the Elder Scrolls series. But I have to say, also, Morrowind didnt have cutscenes until the Bloodmoon expansion and it is one of the greatest and most respected RPGs in history. . .in my opinion of course. To be honest I think, as of late, alot of games focus too much on cut scenes and not enough on gameplay *cough* Enchanted Arms *cough* Dirge of Cerberus *cough* Lost Planet *cough cough*

Nasty cough you have there...
I dunno what to make of no cutscenes, to be fair. I have said in the past that I do not know if I will engage so much with my character emotionally without cinematic cutscenes to help me out but then I also agree with Hex's point about how the cutscene dictates to you rather than involves you...I have never played an RPG that does not involve cutscenes of some kind, so I will be interested to see how different Fable 2 will be from Fable the Lost Chapters...
I do like it when the story is explained more in cinematic cutscenes like Halo and Halo 2...I'm a stickler for clarity...

Yeah, I cant seem to get rid of it *cough* Final Fantasy X-2 *cough*
But I agree, I to am interested in how different this will be. Dont get me wrong, I love cut scenes, but as I stated they have been used as of late for nothing more than eye candy that only distract us from badly written stories and mediocore gameplay. Sure, every once in a while I see a game that executes it well and gives a good balance; but I still find myself telling people theres more to games than pretty ciniematics.
