"Overlord" Xbox 360 Demo: Available Now!

There’s a minion horde ready to come tearing down your download pipe as Codemasters announces the release of the Overlord playable demo. The demo is now available from Xbox LIVE Marketplace for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft; the PC demo will follow shortly.

In the demo, players don the Overlord’s illustrious armour, assemble a team of fighter minions and head off for a session of serious destruction in the once tranquil area of The Mellow Hills. As you descend upon the unsuspecting populace and wildlife that reside in the hills, use your loyal minions to gather life-force from the somewhat unwilling sheep, grow the size of your minion horde, and let the Halflings-gone-bad know there’s a new boss in town.

Top that off with minion upgrades (where else do pumpkins get used as minion helmets?), throw in some peasant intimidation and a show-down with the Guard Troll at the Slave Camp and you’ll have just as taste of the havoc that a minion horde can wreak.

In the full game, players will be able to amass armies of up to 50 minions and select from three further minion types to lead into battle. Then there’s the rest of the twisted domains to explore (and conquer), seven corrupt heroes to defeat, the Dark Tower to rebuild, and the Legion of Terror and other spells to unleash as you strive to be proclaimed the mighty Overlord!

Get ready to explore your more despotic side with Overlord, coming June 29th for Xbox 360 and PC. Meanwhile, perfect your evil laugh with the playable demo, now available from Xbox LIVE Marketplace with the PC demo following early next week at:

Awsome looking game. This is how being Evil in Fable should've been! I'm so getting it once it comes out.

Yeah!

In a way though it kinda reminds me of the way Elder Scrolls looks and....Fable, but I'm going to get it since it sounds like a good game.

hmmm...in falbe 2...hopefully being evil woill be like that...owning an empire and have dark minions....and being good....owing a castle and having holy disciples

I`d like to have Xbox 360... to play this game. I`m pretty sure my PC won`t handle it.

Get a graphics card or a chip that increases the amount of space on your computer.

Yeah, well, to have a decent Gaphics Card I`d have to change my motherboard as well.
But... I don`t have the money anyways so...

This game now officially kicks ***! Playing it as we speak, and it is like a version of the old classic "Dungeon Keeper" - but better in everyway!

I love it.

I heard of this a long time a go and have been reading the developer diaries on it for a while. I think im going to have to download the demo and give it a go. Nice report Scott +rep.

The Hero... uhm.. Villain looks like a blend of Sauron and Jack of Blades and the enviroment and creatures and characters in general reminds you alot of Fable.

As I said - I love it! I think I'll even put a pre-order on this little gem.

Yeah thats exactly the same thing ive been thinking when ive been watching all the previews for it. I will grab the demo soon and give it a go.
