Re: Peter Molyneux's request / Should we review Fable II before online co-op?
You know, I thought I had heard somewhere via Lionhead that they were able to push the patch out on day one. Obviously this completely kills that thought of mine; did anyone else read/hear this somewhere?
There are reviewers out there that are snobs and others that hold grudges (won't name names, cough) but they're always looking to stir things up to get more hits or because they felt slighted from a developer in the past. Others really don't think games such as this should be made for the casual gamer and that this "demographic mixing" is getting away from the demo that matters.
NUTS! I say to that. This market is moving in such a direction that has become much more homogenized than it was even two years ago. Aside from the fact that it's a shrewd business move to reach the maximum number of consumers possible, it's also a bridging between two demos that don't necessarily have to be mutually exclusive to produce games that have a great amount of depth.
But I digress. I think it would be prudent to review both and then draw some conclusions from that. I'm sure Fable II will take hits from some reviewers because it was technically unfinished on release day but they can have bolt of lightning with some slow time berzerking to the face for all I care.
