Poem of Trees (( Written during... That phase. ))
So many trees, between me and my goal,
Which could make my walk, not as easy,
They laugh at me, taunting, reveling in my
Torment. They are green, a strange thing,
That they are actually a living being.
I sit and wait for night to cease,
The darkness enveloping me.
Daybreak prevails, and the red glow is
Seen, the forest no longer mocks, but
Invites me to enter it.
But I am not one so easy, to give in
To a tree. And a group of trees is out
Of the question. I decide to wait it out
Once more, to wait for the dark of night.
The moon shines white, like it always shall,
The trees once again taunt and mock me,
The primitive things, they always shall be,
Their twisted arms reach to me, grabbing at me,
I step away from it, and sit down to wait once more.
I feel a chill, as surely as they do,
And I bundle up under my fur blankets,
But the trees mock even the seasons themselves,
And they shed their now bloodied leaves to the ground,
And whistle at the wind, swaying in it together.
I wait once more, and God gives me a pure blanket,
From the heavens it falls, all over the region, my domain,
But I do not fight the intrusion, but welcome the company,
Of those who would defy those tall stalks of deception,
For I shall wait once more, to see if the snow kills them.
I sit and wait, I watch and breathe, but nothing happens,
For they are just trees, but more then just trees, they still sway,
Their bodies naked and bare, but feel no embarrassment,
Almost as if they repeat this once more, from a past time,
Yet that one pattern continues, and by day I am welcome, by night I'm a fool.
I wait once more, and the white fades, the green returns,
And by now, the time has past, my destination forgotten,
For I still watch the trees, putting their clothes back on,
Or did the leaves put the trees on, as it may be?
I did not know, I do not know, I shall not know.
The heat overwhelms, but not the forest.
It welcomes me, to bury myself in shadow.
The darkness promises to sooth, and I
Give in. I rush to the trees, crying for love.
I am welcomed not as a guest, but as death.
I am laughed at even now, the trees mock me,
For I fell to their ploy, a clever one indeed.
I fight for primitive survival, against those that belong,
And others who don't. I remain within, my thoughts lost to
The forest, sheltering those who feast on flesh, and capturing...
Those who do not.
