I'm not sure if you can already do this and if you can someone help me out but can you set it so when someone comments on a thread you made it sends you a private message?

I am pretty sure you can subcribe.
Go to USER CP tab, click that. Then click Edit Options. Look for messages and notifications. Find: Default Thread Subscription Mode:
here you can set notification to have
an email sent instantly, or daily, or weekly.

No, its goes to email or nothing. Private messaging does not seem to be set up to handle that.
First search to see if this has come up there, if not make a thread about it in Heroes' Guild.
Let the staff know you want them change notification from email to site personal mail

jwc2200 is correct (+rep by the way). I'm afraid that notifications are limited to email only. I wouldn't mind the option to be notified of new replies via PM, too, but until the folks at vBulletin decide it's worth coding into their software then my hands are tied.

yeah i had been thinking of this as an improvement to. shame it cant be done currently.

All down the the Vbulletin creators to add extra features and guess we just have to wait and see if there is enough demand for certain things to see them implemented.
