Sims 2 Help

I recently got The Sims 2, Nightlife, and Open for Business. Now, straight to the point. Whenever I got to create a new family, I make the family, and it goes to an "infinite" loading screen that doesnt stop, and turns out it's not responding. I havent been able to find ANY help on this whatsoever, and am getting thoroughly po'ed. Any help appreciated.

well my guess is that its just operating normally. i was playing the sims:life stories demo and it took around five minutes for it to finish loading, so maybe you should wait a bit longer, even if its says its not responding

Re: Sims 2 Help

If you have any hacks/mods or custom content installed, temporarily remove them. Go to My Documents>EA Games>Downloads, and then Cut & Paste the Downloads folder to a temp location. Then try running the Sims 2 again without the custom content.

Custom Content like hacks/mods usually cause problems like that, and other odd gameplay behavior if the bugs aren't worked out of it. If the problem is fixed with the Downloads folder removed, then you'll have to do some trial & error in order find out exactly which hack is causing the problem.

If the problem continues even without the Downloads folder installed, then my only other guess is that there's either a problem with the Drivers, or there was some error during installation, or possibly a system file for the game is missing/corrupted due to a scratched/dirty disc.

Does an error window pop-up when it freezes, if so... what does it say?
