Brief Description

The Latest Title in The Sims, set to be released later this year or beginning of next year, The Sims 3 is set to revolutionize the gaming world. The game will take advantage of new A.I. developments from Richard Evans, guided by many of EA's top developers such as Benjamin Bell.

On the 8th of March 2008, EA launched a new splash screen on their Sims 3 website, notifying players that on the day, the first information about the latest title will be announced on 19th of March 2008. Included in this announcement is to be a whole new range of Videos, Screenshots and much more.


But what exactly do we know so far, and what is to be expected in this game:

• New seamless neighborhood, where all Sims live, work and play together. Life will never be the same again...
• Why not visit the local neighbor, or maybe play a prank on them.
• Create the Sim of your Dreams, with an all new re-design CAS screen.
• Sims now have their own personalized traits, this will make each Sim as unique as a cloud.
• Hundreds of characteristics to choose from, giving even more personality to your Sims.
• New control re-designed panel makes playing the game even more easier.
• Sims think for them self, no need to wake up, go to fridge and go to word. The player does not need to focus so much attention on Sims any more.
• Sims can wander out of their house, down to the shops, mooch about in the town square
• Sims can now creep around the neighbourhood spying on other people.

Traits

Each Sims will have a set of traits which will determine their character, this is a list of traits that has already been uncovered from the Games for Window Magazine.

So long as it brings lots of new things to the table people will be happy. After so many expansions and people playing the previous ones for many years the series needs a real kick in the advanced direction to grab peoples interest again. +rep for the find.

Well, after reading the second set of scans, it looks like their going to repeat the usual series of expansion packs again for The Sims 3. As I originally expected, the game is alot more in-depth than the previous installments of the franchise, which is good. I just hope these new gameplay mechanics are more enjoying and fresh than that of Sims 2, as I'm already tired of that game.. it's pretty deap, and random.. but even the randomness is scripted in a way where it just gets tiring.

What I found odd, was in the PC Gamer scans, the guy said they put everything they possibly can into the main game, and then think up the expansion packs later (and is what they're doing for Sims 3). Yet, in the GFW scans, the other guy said they already have the expansion packs laid out while they're still in development of the Sims 3.

Not sure I'm going to get the game, but I'll continue keeping an eye on it.
