So I had to share this moment of stupidity with someone...
(disclaimer: if you are annoyed by pointless posts, you probably shouldn't read. This also contains some spoilers if for some reason you haven't finished the game by now)

So, I recently picked the game back up (TLC) and finally beat Jack of Blades with my good mage. I choose to banish the sword and get the Tear of Avo sword. I beat all the summoners trying to destroy the heart before it powers up and and I go to the Lost Bay. I go to do a manual save, but I accidently hit load and for one reason or another I don't notice it. Upon my arrival in Knotthole Glade (i think that's what it's called), the game autosaves and I'm back to where I started before I ever went to the Hook Coast place...
Edit: I'm pretty sure it would've been a world save-- i was between quests.
I hope you LOL at my expense. It should make your day go a little bit better
